The Aurora

I created this book for our university module titled Design Briefs and Competitions. For this module, we looked at the ISTD submission briefs, and were tasked with choosing one. I chose the brief titled Weather Dependent, and decided to make my book about the Aurora Borealis. In my book, I had a few different chapters, which were, The Aurora Borealis: What is it?; The Aurora’s History and Folklore; The Science Behind The Aurora; When Can The Aurora Be Seen; and The Auroral Oval. I included lots of book information gathered from my extensive research, as well as diagrams and images. I also had acetate images, and riso-printed half-tone chapter dividers. I added these extra features because they link well with The Aurora, it’s colours, shapes and appearance, as well as an acetate sleeve to the front cover, because of it’s link to the acetate within my book.
